We’ve written before in this blog about jazz creating a sense of coming home for us and this past weekend Port Townsend, Washington was where it all came together again. It’s not hearing familiar tunes that necessarily brings us home, because there are always many more new compositions and arrangements for us to experience. It’s more the pure joy of the music and seeing and hearing some of our old and new favorite musicians bringing life to this art form that creates that sense of well-being, family and home to us.
