“A smoggy day, in Beijing town…” well, you get the picture. While the air quality was on the low side, the fun and excitement of visiting this incredible place in the world was definitely on the high side. Tanya and Jay attacked the Forbidden City with zest and, at this time of year, crowds were relatively light.
At 34 acres, Tiananmen Square is the largest square in the world and is a highlight in itself. But the real attraction is the Forbidden City, a complex of palaces and buildings covering over 250 acres and the center of power for the Qing and Ming dynasties. February is a perfect time to visit.
